What was your favorite childhood story?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for November 09, 2007:
Two come to mind: One, Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. I fancied myself as Jo - the slightly tomboy writer who fought for equality and fairness and family.
The other, much less profound and likely well-known, was The Twits by Roald Dahl. It was this ridiculous story about this rather awful couple couple who kept playing pranks on each other (the wife dropped her glass eye into her husband's mug, for instance), but it was hilarious (especially to a kid!). I credit my mom, an English teacher, for finding the best childhood stories for me to read!

I totally identified with Jo as well!
I even had a Jo doll.
