Refreshing and enlightening. All this talk of the economic downturn has caused me to really re-evaluate what money means to me, and what I really need in life as a whole. Interestingly, with spending less money, I am feeling more fulfilled - I am getting up and watching the sunrise over the ocean, I am hiking in the woods with my husband, and I am out taking walks and inhaling the beauty of nature in to my soul.
And - I feel wealthier than I have in a long time.

People who will do anything to make money, refuse to give of themselves or their prosperity to the unfortunate, and call that manifesting.
It is so counter-intuitive to who I am what I know, and what I stand for, that I just have a hard time understanding this perspective.

On this inauguration day, I am moved by the beauty of the myriad faces and incredible energy I see in Washington. In my lifetime, I never thought - I never dreamed - that this moment would come. I wasn't sure we were ready; I wasn't sure that the right time and place and energy would come together to make this incredible moment happen.
And yet, it has.
And I am struck by the lesson inherent in this day - or, perhaps, more correctly, one lesson within a rainbow of lessons - and that is, the simple power of doing exactly what you were meant to do in this world.
Looking at President-Elect Barak Obama, does anyone have a doubt that he was meant for this moment? That, from birth, he was INTENDED to lead?
It is hard to imagine a person MORE intended to be exactly who and where he is right now.
Of course, the truth is that ALL of us are intended to be something special - to contribute our special energy to the world in a way that is needed and that makes the world a better place. Maybe we are not all meant to be President, but we might be intended to be the best mom, the most incredible counselor, the perfect accountant, or the top cleaning person ever (or anything else YOUR soul calls to you to do!).
Yet, we may hear the calling in our souls of what we are intended to be - but we might doubt it. We might let other's opinions get in our way - or simply in our minds, which is worse. We might put ourselves down as not good enough, or just as being a "dreamer" - a person who imagines things that can never be.
None of it is true. When we get in our own way - when we choose to not believe in our own inner callings to live a certain kind of life in a certain kind of way, when we question our ability to put our energy forward in a way that is good and powerful, we rob the world of the power - the world-changing power - of who we are.
What if Barak Obama had been afraid to step forward and claim his truth?
We all know that the world would have missed out on a great, powerful change.
What if you choose to not live YOUR truth?
It is no less significant a loss.
Today, be inspired to BE exactly who you were intended to be. Choose to believe in the beauty and power in your soul - in the unique energy that you - JUST YOU! - are called to manifest in this world.
By simply and powerfully living your truth, you change the world. Answer that calling with confidence, and BE that change right now.

Yes. There is beauty in every person. Peel back the anger, peel back the hurts that have caused their actions, and there, somewhere, there is beauty.
I remember, when I was in high school, that there was a friend of mine's brother that EVERYone said was, well, not a nice guy, to put it mildly. However, I just kept choosing to be kind to him, to smile and listen to him, and to really try to connect with him.
In the end, he and I really got along. Why? I think it was because I took the time to see past his hard, ugly exterior and see the beauty within. He felt safe with me.
