What do you have the hardest time accepting?

Posted on Jan 17th, 2009 by Tara : Life Transformation Goddess :o) Tara
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for January 17, 2009:

People who will do anything to make money, refuse to give of themselves or their prosperity to the unfortunate, and call that manifesting.

It is so counter-intuitive to who I am what I know, and what I stand for, that I just have a hard time understanding this perspective.

Yes, this has been part of the old matrix which we now see falling away. I predict that all these “ego driven” types will not get much air play in the new positive and higher energy we are all manifesting.

So be it!

HI Kaiya and Bright Michelle!

Thanks for your comments - it means a lot to me. I am so glad to know of others that feel as I do, and yes, I do believe that this perspective will eventually go by the wayside.

What caused me to feel such fervor over this at this particular moment is a story told to me by a friend and client; one that not only hurt her, but appalled me to the core of my being.

In short, (and not using names to protect the guilty), this woman went to a seminar that was about manifesting wealth. She paid upwards of $4,000 for this seminar, and the man leading it told all of them to go out on the streets and “manifest” money. Now, this was not by connecting with prosperity, this was not by allowing the flow of good in to your life, no, this was by going and talking to people and trying to convince them to give you money - essentially begging on the streets. Of course, people were sent out in little “pods” to convince the ones that were dubious on this to go along (gotta love peer pressure).

So, my client began chatting with a man on a trainand managed to have him give her $20. However, as she got off the train, she saw a homeless man with a cup going through the trash trying to get any liquid he could from throw-away cups.

Every fiber of her being wanted to give that man her $20 she had just “manifested.” However, she remembered the leader of the group (the one manifesting $4,000 a person for himself) saying that poverty was just an illusion, and anyone that was poor got themselves that way.

So, she did not give the $20 to this man. Off she went with her group to try to “manifest” the amount of money required by the leader.

When she got back to the seminar, she just couldn’t stand it anymore. She stood up and questioned the leader of this group, saying that his stance on poverty was surely wrong, and that he “told them that poverty was an illusion, but there it was in front of her!”

The leader at first shrugged this off, saying that “this was an area of coaching that he did not want to get in to” and then asked her, “SO, did you want to give that man your $20?”

She answered truthfully, “Yes.”

He said, “Well, that is why you will never be a success.”

Appalling.

This woman cried herself to sleep for two full weeks NOT because she would “never be a success” - but because she could not stand it that she did not give the money to the homeless man. She finally tucked $20 in a note to a mission, asking them to use it in a way that would do good for others.

I cannot tell you how much - the core of my being - that I feel that this approach is wrong. To be truly prosperous in life - to actually manifest that which we desire - does not require miserly, unfeeling behavior and it does not require going out and talking our way in to getting what we want.

It requires a willingness to see money as energy, that which is freely given and freely received. It requires feeling so abundant in life that sharing it with those less fortunate is easy.

After all, isn’t there something in the Bible about whatever you give will come back to you ten-fold?

Sigh. It just angers me that someone can make that kind of money training people to be selfish individuals that will do anything to make money.

Oh well, hope you are both having a wonderful day!
